The Qudailchay River flows through Quba. On the opposite bank is an exclusive Jewish community known as Red Settlement (Qırmızı Qesebe in Azeri or Krasnaya Sloboda in Russian), where one can see lots of red roofs from the adjacent hill. The houses in Quba are much smaller than those in the neighbouring area.

Buses run between Baku and Quba daily. A minibus or van costs 4 manat and takes 3 hours. There are buses from and to the Quba region that run daily. The nearest railway station is Khachmaz, 20 km east. However, if you don't have any particular reasons to go by train, a bus will be more convenient. Cabs depart from Baku to Quba on January 20th and Shamahinka stations. You may reach Quba by car if you take the M1 for about 2–2.5 hours. The road, with the exception of the last 35 kilometres, is a highway with a 110 km/h speed limit. You may park anywhere in Quba with the exception of obvious prohibitions - the central square near the information centre being an example.
