Laza Village lies in the Gusar District of northeastern Azerbaijan, at the foothills of the Shahdag massif, one of the highest and most prominent peaks in the Greater Caucasus.

Snowmelt is one of the primary hydrological drivers in Laza. During late spring, melted water from Shahdag flows down the cliffs, creating powerful waterfalls. By summer, some waterfalls become thinner but remain scenic. In winter, the waterfalls often freeze into majestic ice formations.

- Winter: Cold, snowy, −5°C to −15°C
- Spring: Lush landscapes, wildflowers, strong waterfall flow
- Autumn: Golden mountain colors, popular for photography
Laza’s location also provides expansive views of the Shahdag peaks, attracting hikers, photographers, and paragliders.
